𖤓 OUR APPROACH
The Montessori Approach
Education Designed Around The Child.
Montessori is a child-centered approach to education that recognizes each child as a capable, curious learner. Through purposeful experiences, thoughtful guidance, and a carefully prepared environment, children develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning.

𖤓 WHAT MAKES MONTESSORI DIFFERENT?
Children Aren’t Simply Taught. They’re Observed, Guided, and Encouraged to Discover.

Every child learns in their own way. Montessori education respects that individuality by giving children meaningful choices, hands-on experiences, and the time they need to develop new skills.
Rather than placing every child on the same path, Montessori teachers observe each child closely and thoughtfully guide their learning. The result is an environment where children can build independence while developing confidence, concentration, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning.
The Principles Behind Our Approach
These guiding principles shape every part of our classrooms and help children develop into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals.
01
Foster Independence
Children build independence by doing meaningful things for themselves. In a Montessori classroom, children are encouraged to make choices, care for their environment, and take responsibility for their work within clear and supportive boundaries.
Through everyday experiences such as preparing a snack, caring for materials, or completing a classroom task, children gradually develop confidence in what they can do.
02
Follow the Child
Every child develops at their own pace. Our teachers observe each child carefully, paying attention to their interests, abilities, and readiness so they can offer the right support at the right time.
This individualized approach allows children to spend meaningful time exploring subjects that interest them while continuing to build the skills they need to move forward.
This wording connects directly with Parkview's existing philosophy of following the child's developmental needs rather than treating learning as one-size-fits-all.
03
USE FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Observation is an important part of Montessori education. Rather than relying only on traditional testing, teachers continually observe children's work, engagement, progress, and emerging needs.
These observations help teachers understand when a child is ready for a new challenge, when they may need additional support, and how the environment can better support their development.
04
VALUE KINDNESS & PEACE
Children are learning how to live and learn alongside others every day. Montessori classrooms intentionally nurture respect, kindness, cooperation, and grace and courtesy.
Through everyday interactions, children learn to listen, communicate, resolve challenges, care for their community, and respect the people and environment around them.
We believe these social and emotional skills are an important part of preparing children for life.
05
INTEGRATE NATURE
Children are naturally curious about the world around them. Montessori encourages that curiosity through opportunities to explore nature, observe the world, and connect learning to real experiences.
Whether discovering something outdoors, caring for a plant, or exploring the natural world through classroom materials, children are encouraged to observe, ask questions, and learn through experience.
06
BEAUTIFUL, PREPARED ENVIRONMENTS
The Montessori environment is carefully prepared with the child in mind. Classrooms are calm, orderly, beautiful, and filled with materials that invite children to explore and work independently.
Child-sized furniture, accessible materials, and thoughtfully arranged spaces give children the freedom to choose meaningful work while developing concentration, coordination, independence, and responsibility.
“We’re not just preparing children for the next classroom. We’re helping them become confident, curious learners for life.”
A Montessori education supports the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
